Foris Sage Sausage Pie
- 1 lb Foris Sage Sausage (casings removed)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/3 cup onion, chopped
- 3/4 cup milk
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 (9-inch) deep-dish pie crust, partially baked and cooled
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375 °F. Par bake pie crust.
- Remove Foris Sage Sausage from casings.
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the sausage until completely cooked. Remove the sausage, and set aside on a paper towel to drain some of the fat.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Sauté the onions in the butter until tender. Add the milk and heat until steam rises, but do not boil the milk.
- Cut the cream cheese into small pieces, add it to the onion mixture, and remove the pan from the heat. Mix thoroughly.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs, add the cheddar cheese, the onion mixture, the Worcestershire, salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
- Pour wet ingredients into the piecrust and add the cooked Foris Sage Sausage, evenly around the pie crust .
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until set.
